"These hardy beasts are semi-feral and roam freely around the huge expanse of the Carneddau mountains. They are a genetically unique breed and have populated this harsh landscape for thousands of years.

I regularly come across these beautiful animals and on this occasion I was on the summit of Crimpiau, a superb mini mountain which rises above Capel Curig. If you visit this hill and aren’t lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the ponies, you will be compensated with amazing views down the Mymbyr and Ogwen valleys along with the mountains that surround them.
